Daily Provisions - West Village

On this rainy evening, when New York had emptied out and the streets felt steeped in a Woody Allen melancholy, I decided to have dinner at Daily Provisions — the legendary cafe concept by Danny Meyer. How beautiful that signature blue looks in the daytime — when all of Manhattan, in good spirits, rushes in for coffee, pastries, and breakfast, wrapped in warmth, smiles, and the aroma of espresso. And how quietly sad and lonely the city can feel on a dreary night like this. But then — a kind staff member greeted me with a morning-like smile. It made everything feel warmer. He didn’t glance at the clock, though it was close to closing time. He simply kept working. His colleague softly sang along to sunny, feel-good songs as she cleared tables and brought me my food. There were three of us in the cafe. Each quietly alone, but the care from the team gave hope — like something out of a Francoise Sagan novel — that maybe everything will be okay. The matcha was nice. The cup, however, had visible dishwasher marks — it’s probably time to refresh the tableware, dear team. I ordered three sides: — carrots with balsamic, — potatoes with parmesan, — and brussels sprouts. It seemed the sprouts had a rough day—overcooked and charred. Still, the space was clean and cozy, and I’m grateful it was open past 5 PM — otherwise, I would’ve been left without dinner. Also, a note: the restroom was clean and tidy. And that’s always a good sign.

My friend and I kicked off our day with a Bacon, Egg and Cheese from Daily Provisions: every component of it was spot on Fast, friendly service, too.

This place is already lovely from the outside, especially on a cold day it already looks very inviting from the outside. I got a Bacon, Egg & Cheese Sandwich and a Drip Coffee. The Sandwich was really on point. Really fresh, hot, with thick slices of bacon. There are a few seats close to the windows if you want to have a bright table. Highly recommend Daily Provison. Will come back if back in NY

Crullers were delicious! Light and airy on the inside, nice little crunch on the outside, and perfect glaze on top! Maple was fantastic and their seasonal blood orange was bright and tart.

Lovely, healthy, fresh food! A great find on our way from Downtown Manhatan to Times Square.

Perfectly cooked egg on a perfectly fluffy bun with thick cut bacon - excellent execution! Delicious latte - they offer decaf too! And the maple cruller is moist and fluffy. They really know what they're doing here! I thought I'd be a bit "bogged down" after this meal and here I am, wondering if I should order a second sandwich..! No hype here, just quality! Plus the atmosphere is relaxing and welcoming, with a huge people watching window seating area.

Daily Provisions is my latest obsession. I have been coming here probably 3 times a week since I first tried it. It's from the same chef, Danny Meyer, that started Shake Shack and Eleven Madison Park. The patty melt is heavenly with a solid crunch and wonderful flavor from the sauteed onions. I usually also go for the seared salmon w/brussel sprouts, or the tuna melt. I emailed them about nutrition information a week ago and have not received a reply unfortunately. I love the royal blue atmosphere as it makes it feel homey and cozy. However I have noticed this location seems to run on the cold side, so I would suggest them to turn the heat up a bit (have heard comments from other patrons regarding this). I wish they closed at 10, instead of 9. Would make it easier coming back from the gym so I wouldn't have to rush out if I wanted to have their wonderful salmon w/brussels for dinner. Make sure to ask for your order to stay, as I’ve noticed that at another location, they automatically set it to go, which ruins the whole dining experience and presentation

Ordered the avocado toast with a fried egg (wife ate it too quickly for a picture), patty melt, and the salmon and potatoes. The patty melt was amazing/just right, although it did have some type of aioli, which it would have been better without. The salmon was moist and potatoes were toasty and delicious. Highly recommend!!!
